 A good Vampire Tale
« Thread Started on Mar 31, 2008, 6:36am »

I have been mulling about with the idea for a good Vampire story, The story starts in Paris in the early 1800's and concludes in the US in the presend time.

Story revolves around a character named Gabrial who for the past 100yrs has sworn off feeding off humans. He fights to regain some amount of humanity each day. His mind is haunted by the Vampire that turned him....His Mother...She was bittne and turned when he was 17yrs old leaving his to fend for himself in the streets of Paris.

Five years after her turning Gabrial's mother finally gets her claws on him. He is turned and Mother and Son terrorize Paris side by side. In the early 1900's Gabrial has grown weary of the hunt and begins to stray away from Human as his source of blood. He tries to bring his mother to do the same thing. This however sends her and the rest of the vampire gang into a rage and they beat Gabrial nearly to death leaving him to bleed out in the streets.

50yrs go by and Gabrial's mother and her gang have since traveled across the water to the US to expand their wave of terror. To their unhappy luck Gabrial survived their beating and had journey to the US 30yrs prior to them. He has spend these years fighting and killing Vampires along side a spirited woman named Morgan whose family were slaughtered by Vampires who now hunts for the vampires that killed her family. The to prove to be an uncomfortable thorn in Gabrial's mother's side.

In a bloody death match that spans across the eastern seaboard of the US for nearly a year Mother and Son find themselves against each other.

Havent gotten much past that as far as a brainstorm goes.

Hmm, sounds intriguing.

What does he feed on instead of human then?
Animals? :o

*shrug* A mother and son controversy sounds interesting in a vampire context.

I'm wondering how this Morgan could forgive him for his alternate nature, but like you said, just brainstorming--

Have you ever read any of Anne Rice's vampire novels? Here vampire, Lestat, (to my surprise) is very likable and in an odd way, relatable to. I caught myself cheering him on, rather than frowning at his actions. ?? Weird, I know, but this thing with Morgan reminds me of Lestat with his friend.

Gabrial has sworn to feed off of animals rather than humans, sort of a penance. ;D

Yes I thought the Mother -vs- Son would add a very interesting and dramatic point to the story.

Morgan was not always very receptive of Gabrial's would be lineage. She at one point almost killed him, it has taken them years of fighting side by side and saving each others butts to fully gain each others trust.

I started reading them, my mother was a huge Ann Rice fan at the time when the books came out, sadly I didn't stick with reading them even though I own a good share of the series. I have been told they are very good. I am a fan of the movies they did for them...Interview with a Vampire & Queen of the d**ned.

I've only nibbled at Anne Rice's stuff, so far. I'm keeping an eye out for Interview with a Vampire.
